Bash in Jai Hind College
Entourage – a term derived from the French word “entourer” which means, “to surround”. The nomenclature of this festival by Jai Hind College is impeccable considering the kind of engulfing and euphoric experience it gives coordinators as well as participants.
Entourage is organized by the students of BAF, BBI, and BFM courses, hence, it is essentially a finance festival.
Entourage is in its 8th year and it was conducted on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of December, 2016 with the theme being “Burn to Emerge”. This theme is developed from the myth of the Phoenix wherein it is reborn by burning itself and rising from its own ashes. Entourage is a 3 day long phase of fun, excitement, and passion bordering on insanity. The 3 days covered a plethora of events in the fields of sports, academics, performing arts, literary arts, and other crossover events.
The title sponsor for this year was Smitch, a Wi-Fi enabled Smart Switch Application which allows you to control or regulate the electrical points (fans, lights and sockets) of your house through your smart phone. The festival would not be possible without the support received from Smitch.
Team Entourage worked hard for the success of this grand event. Even though the work involved in pulling off something as huge as Entourage was extremely strenuous, all team members worked for it with all their heart. All the pre-events such as flash mobs on Independence Day, the Entourage Football Championship, and Children’s Day event at Smaaash with underprivileged children are all examples of the teams’ efficiency and their love for the festival. Various colleges from all over Mumbai and many national colleges too, participated in the fest to win the magnanimous Entourage trophy. NM College emerged victorious in the end, with KC College at second place, and Mithibai College at third place.
Entourage was truly a star-studded event with glitz and glamour. Kritika Kamra, Rohit Khandelwal, and Jay Soni were some of the highlights. Mr. Vishaal Rasquinha was the official emcee of Entourage ’16. The cast of ‘Wajah Tum Ho’ attended the War of DJs and promoted their upcoming film. The Cultural Day ended with an energy-filled performance by Coke Studio’s Anand Bhaskar Collective. The footfall was massive and the atmosphere was full of energy. Entourage ’16 was definitely a showstopper among all college festivals in Mumbai wherein all participating colleges, celebrities, faculty, and organizers went back happy and satisfied.
